Ute Tray Appreciation

Okay, jumping straight back into my recount of my friend’s night with the guy I introduced her to. As I said in my last blog, things went really well last night and they hit it off immediately. What I was up to when I finished up my blog post before was that he said that he hadn’t spoken to many girls who shared his love for utes, canopies and tool boxes. He said he was really impressed with her and wanted to show her his aluminium ute canopies if she was free after the party. She was ecstatic at the time and just as ecstatic on the phone! Things clearly went incredibly well. I’m very happy for her.

It’s funny because I’d run in the other direction if someone spent the whole night talking to me about their love of high-quality ute trays. Melbourne has a very high population, so if you don’t like one guy, it’s very easy to move on to the next. I’m not passionate about aluminium ute trays or even utes for that matter, so I wouldn’t be interested in spending time with someone who was. But my friend obviously has some interest, or at least enough to pretend to be interested in it so that she can get to know my other friend. Everyone is different, that’s for sure!

I wonder if my friend and the boy she met will end up being boyfriend and girlfriend. If they do, will she be one of those girls who just ends up liking exactly what her boyfriend likes and losing her personality? When we go out for brunch will it be normal or will she spend the whole time talking about her boyfriend’s new half canopy? That would be so unfortunate. Our conversations would be so dry and I would feel like I’ve lost a friend. Anyway, that’s not an issue for now so there’s no point in me worrying about it!
